Information on the Stained Glass Artist - Sylvia Cook
The works of this artist span a broad spectrum of manners from the earliest paintings in oil, to later circular format of resist and encaustic acrylic stain, watercolors and many various creative pieces of stained glass. The works in glass have taken diverse avenues of traditional, objective, religious, and contemporary. Many of her designs include materials other than standard glass, and her works are continuously unique. The pieces highlight private residence, business or commercial establishments and many church windows of varying denominations.
Sylvia has taught Art, French, Gifted Education and English in public schools and colleges in Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska and Missouri. She also has judged art and photography shows and lectured on art for libraries and State Education Departments. Besides teaching, she has been a farmer, rancher, restauranteur, photographer, published poet, and editor of a national newsletter.
Currently, Sylvia maintains a studio specializing in creative and original works in stained glass, painting, and web design. She devotes great effort to high standards of craftsmanship, creativity, and designs to fit your personal desires.
